PS3 Fanboy

inFamous is a PS3-exclusive action title in which you're able to manipulate the powers of lightning for good ... or evil. The developers of Sly Cooper have shown a lot more footage at GDC, and while it's intriguing, we're finding ourselves drawn to the over-the-top violence of the similarly-themed Prototype. Watch these videos and tell us which one you prefer.

It looks like Cuboid, one of three upcoming PSN games from Creat Studios, will be released soon. A post on the PlayStation Blog by Creat Producer Olga Sokolova shows a little more of what we can expect from the game. Cuboid will sell for $9.99 when it releases "soon" and will include 66 levels (that's just over 15 cents a level). Creat promises that there will also be post-launch premium packs including new levels as well as a level editor.

Looks like the latest Famitsu has (shock!) actual gameplay screenshots of the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII. While we can't host full scans of the magazine, FinalFantasy-XIII.net can. The real-time graphics look superb, and make us want to see the game in action. It's only a few months until Japan gets a playable demo of the game --- we're certain to see much more of the game then.

Demon's Souls was a surprise PS3 game revealed at Tokyo Game Show. From Software, the makers of the Armored Core series is working on this brand new action game. This trailer is three minutes long, and gives us a good idea for the game's mood. However, we want to see more gameplay footage. We're not getting too hyped over this game, so we'd like to see more footage.

Another year, another year of sports games. MLB The Show returns to PS3 next year with a slew of new features. MLB 09 The Show will look even better than last year, thanks to added detail. Stadium crowds will be more interactive and varied than ever, and you'll see transitional lighting on the field as the day turns to dusk. An expanded Road to the Show and Franchise mode can also be enjoyed.

09 will also add online season leagues, training/practice drills, and a new ability to store replays onto the hard drive. The most important addition of all, however, are the mascots. Each team's mascot will be represented in the game.

If you're anything like us then you're counting down the hours to the release of the Metal Gear Solid LittleBigPlanet downloadable content, which arrives tomorrow. The gameplay video you're about to watch (which is after the break) will either tide you over until the expansion's release, or have you chomping even more furiously at the bit. It shows a Solid Snake Sackboy facing off against Metal Gear Rex. Thankfully, it looks as much fun as we'd have hoped. Just fewer than twenty-four hours to go ...

Don't you wish you could go to the docks outside your virtual apartment in Home? Well, a clipping glitch lets you do just that. Those that do manage to break through and go outside will find a cute surprise on a placard far away from the apartment. We won't ruin the surprise for you -- it's after the break.

Square Enix loves to dish out new, albeit tiny, info at the end of the year for its biggest titles like Final Fantasy XIII. It's sort of a playful tease reminding you that there's still something coming for the year ahead ... or several. In the latest scans from Japanese magazine V-Jump, there are some delicious new screen pics of FFXIII's in-game battles and its female protagonist looking contemplative and sultry.

Most of the information in the mag scans regarding the battle system is already well-known, such as no random encounters. The only truly new information is -- after two and a half years -- we're finally going to know one character's real name. While "Lightning" and "Snow" are code names for the main female lead and the blond dude with a bandana, "Oerba Dia Vanille" is the first actual name to be revealed, and it belongs to the spunky red-haired girl.

Other than this info, there's not much else to talk about. There is, however, some nice pictures to look at, so now would be a good time to head on over to VideogamerX and view all the scans.

Miss the inFamous footage on X-Play last night? You can watch the full 12 minute video after the break and see Sucker Punch's Nate Fox talk through a section of the game. The video actually raises our excitement for the game, though there's still a lot of the game that's a real unknown quantity and it seems that they're saving a lot of stuff for us to discover as we play. Though Fox does start talking a little more about morality choices and power upgrades in this video. We're looking forward to more upcoming information that is revealed between now and the game's release in Spring.

OMG! It's a Mahjong game! Okay, while it might not be the most exciting announcement in gaming, we're still impressed by how much effort is going into this downloadable title from Creat Studios. There will be narrated story to go along with the Mahjong solitaire gameplay, and a few new gameplay modes unique to the PSN game. Check out the Trophies for the game here, and let us know if you're excited.

Update: According to our commenters, looks like its Mahjong solitaire. Hopefully, we'll see more that'll appease more traditional players.

You may have been left fascinated yet confused after reading the information blowout regarding Noby Noby Boy the other day. Sometimes it's just easier to show than tell, and this game's a pretty good example of that. Come see BOY stretch and eat everything he comes across in the latest trailer (after the break) from GameVideos. Noby Noby Boy looks quite fun, but is it as fun and innovative as Katamari Damacy was back in the day? We'll find out soon enough as the game releases next month in Japan with a worldwide release to follow closely.

A new TV ad is set to hit the airwaves, this time focusing on the PlayStation Store. The Video Deliver Service now offers films like The Dark Knight and Hancock, and SCEA is more than eager to let people know. The commercial will debut on Monday Night Football. We're wondering if the ad will convince any consumers to buy a PS3. Probably not. However, it should educate PS3 owners about this feature.

So you missed the Spike VGAs. You didn't miss much. Only the first footage of Uncharted 2, God of War III, Brutal Legend, Watchmen and Dante's Inferno (from the team behind Dead Space, don'tcha know). We've got your back, though. After the break you can watch all of the trailers from the show without having to sit through any of that boring "awards" stuff (GTA IV for GOTY? Really?)

We're having trouble deciding which of these trailers is our favorite. Realistically it's probably Uncharted 2, because we love us some Nathan Drake. Then again, we have demon nuns, Kratos wielding massive gloves, Rorschach beating up bad guys and another interesting looking new IP from the Dead Space team. What's there not to like? 2009's looking great.

How long will these trailers stay online? We're not exactly sure. Hopefully, you'll be lucky enough to catch these Final Fantasy XIII trailers, captured from the recently released "Re: Final Fantasy XIII" DVD. Check out XIII and Versus after the break.
